In 1813 in the village of Tanara, Tirtayasa District (now Tanara District) Serang, Banten born a cleric named Sheikh Nawawi al-Banteni. Sheikh Nawawi Al-Bantani full name is Muhammad Nawawi ibn Umar ibn Arabi. Tanara said that the original village (Mansyaan wa Daran). His greatest work is Al Tafsir al-Munir li Ma’alim al Tanzil, until he obtained his Sayyidu al Ulama al Hijaz from Al-Azhar University, Egypt. After serving on the education and writing, he died in 1897 AD at the age of 84 years an was buried in Ma’la City, Mecca.
